Puerto Galera 2008
Apr 28, 2008 Daily Blurbs

Our trip to Puerto Galera was a blast. Ryan and I met up at Jollibee along Paseo de Roxas in Makati and had breakfast, and then we had a ride to the bus station. The bus to Batangas Pier left at 7:30AM and I slept for most of the trip. I was actually feeling nauseas because I didn’t get enough sleep the night before. After 3 hours, we arrived at the pier and bought tickets for the Commandos boat. The boat was already boarding when we got inside the boarding station. We were lucky to leave as soon as we arrived at the pier. Last year, we had to wait for 2 hours.
The ride to White Beach Puerto Galera was a bit bumpy than usual. The waves are bigger and it rocked the boat pretty hard. There were times when the driver had to turn off the engine so that we don’t go against the current. At 12nn, we were already unloading at White Beach. An employee from La Solana Suites and Resort welcomed us and ushered us to their vehicle and brought us to the resort.
Our room was located by the pool and we only had one room beside ours, which was great, because that means less noise. That afternoon though, there was a group singing karaoke by the pool. We didn’t really mind since we went out to lunch by the beach and took pictures of the place. Coincidentally, my classmate from high school was also having lunch there with his girlfriend. Ryan’s colleagues were also at the beach when we arrived. My friends from my old job were there to join us, Ian, Kat and Jen. They arrived at 4pm and after they got settled in on another resort, we headed to the sea to swim.
Warning: Pictures ahead!

Off To Puerto Galera
Apr 18, 2008 Daily Blurbs

Tomorrow morning, April 19, Ryan and I are going back to Puerto Galera. Some of my friends are going there this weekend, too, so this should be a fun trip to the beach. Of course, we are going to take lots of pictures, and I will share some with all of you. The picture above is from last year, we were all eating popsicles by the beach. There will be 5 of us, Ryan and I, Ian, Kat and Jen. I met them from my former job, and they were the ones I was with when I first went to Puerto Galera in 2006. See you guys when I get back on the 21st!

Raindrops Falling
Apr 14, 2008 Daily Blurbs
…not on my head, but on the very hot and dry pavement outside this empty house.
I woke up alone, I don’t know where everyone has gone. I received a message from my mom that they went to the SSS1 Office, I wanted to go because I haven’t received my ID yet. Anyway, yesterday I bought rechargeable batteries with a charger because my trusty camera, Exilim Z-30 is doing weird stuff. For some reason, when the natural light is really bright, the shots become overexposed. It never did that before. I will have to get it checked. Since we have a new digital camera, I bought batteries for it because the alkaline batteries can only do enough. I mean, 5 minutes after putting in new alkaline batteries, the life has drained already. Rechargeable batteries are quite expensive, but I was able to get one for 50% off at Ace Hardware, and I had to choose the economical ones because I am going green.
I do hope that this coming weekend the rain won’t come to visit because we are going to ride a ferryboat to Puerto Galera. It is at least an hour and a half ride and it becomes pretty scary in the middle of the ocean because the waves are quite strong and it rocks the boat pretty hard. One of my greatest fears is dying in water. I’d rather die during a plane crash, where when it crashes, I am instantly dead. I think I am quite ready to go to the beach. Some of my friends will be joining us as well, but they would be staying on a different resort, which is okay, since we can meet up by the beach. If you have read my entry about Puerto Galera, I mentioned to stay away from Dreamwave because a robbery happened last summer. Today, I received a comment where he experienced the same thing in Dreamwave and it happened last December. I do believe it is an inside job. The owners should really take this into account and really get to know their staff and their backgrounds. Traveling and having a vacation should be fun and safe. Read the rest of this entry »
