The Love Of…

I decided to write about some of the things I love, and I came up with five. Just something for you to get to know me better. :D

Music

I have been YouTubeing the other other night, and came across Boyce Avenue. Their vocalist, Alejandro Manzano, is so talented, in my opinion. I love his singing voice. He did a lot of covers, and one of the songs that I liked is his version of Umbrella by Rihanna. I think that’s the best of all the covers he’s done. He also did Lovestoned by Justin Timberlake. He did a great job, his guitar skills are good, too.

December

December means cold, and I love the cold. I would rather feel cold than be sweaty and stinky. Not that I have body odor, I know for a fact that I smell good, even without cologne. ^__+

Right now, I am using 3 blankets. Well, one comforter on top of 1 soft blanket on top of a heat preserving blanket1. In the morning, I have to boil water before I take a bath, or else I freeze my eyeballs when I wash my face! That’s not the best feeling. I remember when I went to Baguio City, I tried to wash my face from tap water, I couldn’t feel my face for a few seconds. I think I got frostbite, I am not sure if it’s called frostbite, since there is no snow, it was just really cold. I can just imagine how it will be if there is snow.

Cheesecake

Blueberry, in particular. Who doesn’t love blueberry cheesecake anyway? Like I mentioned, Ryan and I watched the movie Enchanted. Before we watched the movie, we had lunch at Sbarro. I ordered baked lasagna, while he got a slice of pizza. When we were about to pay, we passed by the desserts bar and the blueberry cheesecake caught my eye. I just can’t pass up the chance to get it. As the best boyfriend that he is, he bought the cheesecake, even if we’re trying to avoid sweets. Well, I try to avoid sweets when I am with him. :D

  1. I’m not sure that’s what it’s called

FTW: It’s Free.

I went to school to enroll today, but when I saw my grades, I was so surprised to see that one of them says INCOMPLETE. It’s for my 3D Modeling class. I immediately looked for my professor and I explained to him the situation. He said that, his computer wasn’t able to read the CD I submitted. He instructed me to send it to him through email and submit a completion form on Monday. Without his subject grade, I believe I did pretty well. My general average is within the 92%-94% bracket. *Gives myself a pat on the back* Good job, Dre!”

Anyway, Lexie pointed me to a website that aims to stop world hunger by playing a simple game. All you have to do is pick the answer that best describes the word. You donate 10 grains of rice per correct answer. If you chose the wrong answer, they will give you an easy word to define next, if you get the word correctly, you will be given a difficult word to define next. Free Rice is the sister site of Poverty.com. Free Rice has two goals:

  1. Provide English vocabulary to everyone for free.
  2. Help end world hunger by providing rice to hungry people for free.

Isn’t that a great idea? They have lots of big sponsors to help UN distribute the sacks of rice that all of us contribute, just by playing a simple vocabulary game. We improve our vocabulary skills, we feed the hungry. Everybody wins, right? So why not spend some of your internet time saving the world? It feels really rewarding.

Has anyone heard about the Google Pagerank issue? I thought my website wasn’t affected by it, but when I checked my PR at PPP, from PR4 my blog dropped to PR3. That kinda sucks, I haven’t checked if it affected my blog traffic, but then, as long as my beloved readers still read my posts and comments, then I’m good.

I tried to do some pixel drawing, and I came up with 3 different ones that I seem a bit satisfied to show, so check them out.

A Life For Yours

Tuesday, 6th of March. My sister, Chicka, sent a text message to my sister, Juvy. Juvy called her up and from the tone of her voice I knew that something’s up. After the phone call, she told us that the FX Taxi she rode with her 2 classmates was held-up.

As she was relating the story to us, we found out that the 2 men were armed with guns. But thank God no one got hurt. My sister was able to think fast and she was able to slid her 2 cellphones and her friend’s iPod Nano at the backside of her seat. Unfortunately, when the 2 guys were about to get off the vehicle, being that its1 keys are very sensitive to touch, it lit up. The guy, of course, took the iPod from her.

After two days, while I was cooking lunch, I heard one of our dogs, Chipipo, yelping in a weird way. Juvy and I went out to look at him. He was lying on his side and it was like he was spasming and then he slowly closed his eyes. Maybe his yelping was his way of saying “goodbye”. Juvy went to his side and started crying. I wasn’t really crazy about that dog, but I felt sad, too. Juvy used to be the one tasked to feed our 2 older dogs. My dad said that one of the reasons he died is for eating live chicks. We have chickens, too. He said that the tiny bones of the chicks might’ve done something on his insides.

Chicka’s friend told her that according to her mom, our dog saved her life. In our culture, it was said that when we encounter a near death experience, there would be an instance that one of our pets die. I didn’t believe it, but I think I do now. One of her classmates that was with her sent her a text message and told her that her pet cat died!

Eerie.

Chocolate Chairs

Yesterday afternoon, my classmates and I went to Sta. Ana Elementary School to help fix and pain their desks. A few of my classmates and I were late for 20 minutes, thanks to me! I couldn’t leave home right away because my dad asked me to wait until he gets home.

Anyway, there were other students from the other sections. This is actually a part of our community service for our NSTP subject. I believe this will be the last one. I painted 2 desks by myself, and I helped Melai with 1. Painting desks wasn’t really hard, what sucked was that we were under the heat of the sun, plus we were standing on uneven grounds. It’s nice to help out with little things such as that, but I was sore after. It’s my time of the month, you see… and before I went there, I was already feeling nauseas.

It’s a good thing that I wore house slippers because there were paint droplets on it now. It’s pink2 and the paint is in a chocolate brown hue. One of my students3 was there, watching me paint their chairs. I didn’t bother talking to her because I didn’t like the fact that there were instances when they didn’t attend their tutorial lessons. Their school is a bit far from where I live, and it was a waste of time and money going there and finding no one to teach. I feel a little bad that those kids didn’t really learn anything that they can take with them because their attention span is just to short. Dré painting a desk chair.

Fast Paced

I finally have DSL. It was up and running the other day and I was ecstatic! My dad and I tried it out. He checked his email that he hasn’t checked for ages, while I did some uploading and upgrading on some of my sites. It feels good to be able to do things fast.
