I’m Heavy(er)

I refuse to take diet pills to lose weight. Starting this weekend I am hitting the gym. I am actually afraid to go alone, but I am not going to be. My whole family is coming with me to start being healthy. I’ve noticed that I get tired so easily for the past month. I need to get of my arse and be active again.

I used to dance. It keeps me in shape, but eversince I stopped, I have no physical outlet. I am stuck in my computer chair, working, playing, working, playing. I’d rather spend money going to the gym than pay for medications later in life.

A change in my family’s diet is definitely needed. My parents are not getting any younger and our health won’t get better if we just sit around doing nothing. Hopefully, in a few weeks, I’ll have more energy.

Be Beach Body Ready

Summer here in the Philippines is just a few months away, and if I want to wear a swimsuit, I need to work on my daily routine and beat the heat with a beach body figure. Now, when I say beach body, it doesn’t mean “skinny”. I like to be in the middle, not so thin and not fat.

Here are a few things I need to work on:

  1. My Cardio: Which basically means I need to go out and jog, or ride a bike, and use the stairs more.
  2. Weight Training: Nah, I don’t think I can do this without any fitness equipment available at home.
  3. Eat 5-6 meals per day: The technique is eating more frequently, speeds up your metabolism. It reduces hunger and cravings.
  4. More protein, less carbs: Moderate intake of protein helps you lose fat faster. I am currently eating less rice than usual.

Well, I hope I’d be able to reach my goal in time for summer. :)

2008, Not Just Another Year

Year 2007 went by so fast, but it wasn’t fast enough that nothing really happened. Here’s a list of things that happened to me in the year 2007.

January

February

March

April

May

June

July

August

September

  • Well, I don’t remember anything big that happened to me in September…

October

November

December

  • Kept up with our yearly tradition of secret santa within my family.
  • We experienced a family tragedy. Our property were engulfed by fire, and my cousin suffered from second degree burns.
  • God reminded me that there are more people with really big hearts our there to help anyone in need.

2007 was spent with a mixture of happiness, excitement and tragedy. But through it all, I managed to survive it. I am looking forward to another year, but, I am not making any New Year’s resolution, I have never really kept up with it. What I can do is to continue to make efforts to make myself a better person.

Now, here’s 2008. Another year to face and conquer more battles for self-improvement; another year to experience things that I’ve never tried or haven’t done in a long time; another year to love and be loved by the persons close to my heart; and to be remembered for the good things that I can share with everyone.
