Free Domain Name & Blog Hosting
Jan 11, 2008 Daily Blurbs
Skipping Friday Booboos this week.
Everyone wants something that they can get for free, and we online bloggers would love to get a permanent home on the net. Since the fire tragedy we experienced last year, I was able to give more than I never thought I could. It feels great to give, it’s really very rewarding. Plus the fact that a lot of people offered to help us, was just overwhelming. So, in return for all the good karma, I am giving away a free domain name and a 100MB blog hosting for a year.
There really isn’t a big catch, but, I want to at least use a method of choosing the winner.
How To Join:
- You must be a blogger of at least 3 months.
- Blogger does not currently own their own domain/hosting.
- Post a 100-word review about my website.
- Leave a comment, with your email address on this post, with a link back to the review on your blog.
I will be getting 2 other people to pose as judges to help me choose the winner. I will run the contest until January 31, 2008; comments beyond this date will not be included as an entry. I will announce the winner by February. Contest winner will be notified by email, so please put the email address you frequently use.
If you have questions, don’t hesitate to ask. After almost 7 years of being online, this is the first time I’m ever going to be more than generous, so take advantage of it. Hahaha!
Spread the word!

2008, Not Just Another Year
Jan 1, 2008 Daily Blurbs
Year 2007 went by so fast, but it wasn’t fast enough that nothing really happened. Here’s a list of things that happened to me in the year 2007.
January
- I met Ryan’s childhood friends for the first time.
- Booboo came to my life.
- I taught less privileged how to read.
February
- I spent our first Valentine’s day quietly at home with Ryan.
March
- Our dog died…
- Shared with everyone how I lost weight.
April
- Another one of our dogs died…
- I was sunburnt at Puerto Galera for the second time.
May
- I exercised my voting rights for the first time, and served as a poll watcher for our community.
June
- I added another reason why Ryan is just the best boyfriend ever.
July
- My first time to celebrate with Ryan on his birthday.
August
- Me and Ryan’s 1st Anniversary.
September
- Well, I don’t remember anything big that happened to me in September…
October
- Once again, I participated in the local elections as a poll watcher.
November
- I became an intern for Adrien Multimedia.
December
- Kept up with our yearly tradition of secret santa within my family.
- We experienced a family tragedy. Our property were engulfed by fire, and my cousin suffered from second degree burns.
- God reminded me that there are more people with really big hearts our there to help anyone in need.
2007 was spent with a mixture of happiness, excitement and tragedy. But through it all, I managed to survive it. I am looking forward to another year, but, I am not making any New Year’s resolution, I have never really kept up with it. What I can do is to continue to make efforts to make myself a better person.
Now, here’s 2008. Another year to face and conquer more battles for self-improvement; another year to experience things that I’ve never tried or haven’t done in a long time; another year to love and be loved by the persons close to my heart; and to be remembered for the good things that I can share with everyone.

After The Fire
Dec 22, 2007 Daily Blurbs
I did not have any plans for my birthday. What I did is go to my relatives and bought ice cream for everyone, just to celebrate the day. I was able to take new photos of the place. You can view it on my Flickr account for more fire. My cousin, Roan, who suffered from burns, seems to be feeling better, or at least her spirits are up. A lot of people lend their hand to give us their utmost support and help.
I am deeply in awe how the people that I seldom interact with in real life went out of their way to help us. Pao and Michael were so generous to give us some financial help. Michael is just an online contact in my Multiply account. Pao also offered to give the little kids something after the Holidays. My heart cannot contain the joy of having these people give what they can and more, just to help other people.
A lot of my mother’s friends sent donations of food, clothes, shoes and household items. We were able to give our relatives something to help them start over. As of now, they don’t have a permanent place to stay. My grandmother and my cousin, Raymond, is with my aunt. My other aunt and her kids and families are staying with their relatives on their father side of the family. Of course, it’s just temporary. I believe my dad and his brothers and sisters are working something out. Like, what they would do with the property, if they would sell it or rebuild a new home. I do want them tor rebuild it, because my grandmother loves that place. My grandmother needs a new recliner because hers was lost in the fire. She would usually sit in the veranda during her afternoon naps in her recliner.
Here are some pictures:
- My mom giving away ice cream.
- My cousins, the one on the left was the one who got 2nd degree burns. She still manages to smile.
