Ready to Fly

Last Friady, I went to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) with Ryan and my parents to apply for a passport. We left home at 12:30pm and our scheduled time is between 3-4pm. We anticipated a heavy flow of traffic going to Roxas Blvd. because of the Interfaith prayer rally at Makati City, which was a success.

We arrived at the Mall of Asia after an hour and grabbed a bite at Teriyaki Boy. We waited for Ryan to get off work so we can all go to DFA together. His office is right next to the mall. At 3:30pm we were already at DFA where a long line has filed up outside the building. It is a great thing that our neighbor works there. We didn’t have to stand in line outside, he lead us directly to the processing room where we only waited for 10 minutes, and another 10 minutes to pay for the passport fee. We spent an hour and 15 minutes at the auditorium for the verification process because that’s where the line was the longest, but the encoders were efficient and fast.

There were about 500 people inside the auditorium at a time. It sucks that I had to retake my passport picture, well, actually it was a blessing, because I didn’t like the first picture. I think that it is important to have a good passport picture because, well… who wants a bad picture on an ID, let alone, your passport? The passport will be given to us by our neighbor after two weeks. Ryan and I are planning on traveling in Asia first. Hong Kong may be our first destination. We also plan to travel all over the Philippines. I am graduating soon, and that means I can start working and earn extra cash.

Speaking of graduation, the ceremony will be on the 25th of April at Crossroad77. I am quite excited about it. Would you believe that our graduation fee is three-thousand-pesos?! I don’t really know the breakdown of the fee and I do want to know. After all, it’s my parent’s money, and we are not well off.

My requirements for school must be completed by Friday, March 7. I haven’t had an exam for two of my classes because I was sick. I plan on getting both of the exams tomorrow. I am kind of worried about my grades, because I have been slacking. The truth is, this semester seems like a waste of time and money. Most of my professors were too lazy to teach. I wish I can redo the semester and concentrated more on the matter at hand than criticizing my lazy professors. Well, time can’t be bought and I just have to face the music.

My added replaced our bathroom bidet, it kind of exploded. He also chose a really beautiful mirror from the bathroom vanities section at Home Depot.

I took a really bad picture for my ID card and passport; but then I try to convince myself that it’s nice when people look at your ID and tell you that you look much more beautiful in real life than the other way round! xD

My picture on my passport looks so bad XD It look like I’m in one of those mug shots that they take at police stations haha.

I don’t know how much that costs in pounds, but it does sound alot for graduation O_O They should definately break if down for you and tel you what it’s about, they can’t expect you to just hand the money over..

Good luck with the exams :)

My boyfriend and I are planning on traveling this summer too, but we don’t really need a passport for in country flights. I wouldn’t mind getting a new picture for my passport though, since the picture on there was from my first trip to the Philippines which was about 5 or 6 years ago.

And speaking of graduating, so am I. Although yours is up first. Congrats grad!

Sounds like you had a a pretty packed time! I hate getting passport pictures too… who knows why they don`t let you smile??? It sucks because then we all end up looking like crooks.
Graduation must be very exciting for you. Sucks that a lot of the profs aren’t doing what they’re getting paid to do… sounds like a lot of profs that I heard about… ^_^
