I’ve Got Zero
Oct 8, 2008 Daily Blurbs
When I first started this website thing, I never cared about the demographics. I just published my websites and hoped for a good traffic. All I wanted was for people to see what I’ve created. Last year, I was introduced to Google’s PageRank.
What is PageRank or PR? It is a link analysis algorithm used by Google to distinguish your website’s relevance. Basically, the more people that link to you, the more popular or important your website is to Google. When I became aware of this Google PR thing, I found out that my PR was 4/10. I should be happy about that actually.
But pageranking is not a permanent thing. I mean, the score you get is not permanent. It varies from time to time. I’ve ranked from 4 to 1, then 2 to 3, then 3 to 2, and I’ve got zero.
There are other rankings that distinguish your website’s relevance. Alexa, is one of them. Take for example Amerisave. It has a traffic rank of 98,084. As of now, there are 143 websites that link back to Amerisave which explains its 5/10 PR.
Well, I wish I can improve mine soon.

I’ve never cared much about pageranks. I probably have a big fat 0. I like checking out my Technorati authority though.
