Friday Booboos
May 16, 2008 Buzz, Daily Blurbs, Friday Booboos

- Dogs keep us relax and patient. When you are experiencing a hard day, when you think you are down on the dumps, petting your dog can help ease your depressing emotions. I find myself stroking Booboo when I am on a bad mood. It helps me relax and I can feel my heart going back to its normal beat. Since dogs are like human babies, I learned to be more patient. Even if Booboo can become really rowdy or naughty and ruins some stuff we own, I still manage to keep my cool and I don’t hit her, like some dog owners do.
- Dogs keep us healthy. I do not exercise as much as I want to, but taking Booboo for walks everyday helps me get some. Another thing we do is run around the garden or play fetch. We both benefit our everyday routines, since dogs need exercise, too.
- Dogs are carefree. Humans worry too much and I can attest to that. By observing Booboo, I noticed how nothing really worries her and she never passes up an opportunity to feel joy or be joyous in whatever it is that she does. When I am in deep thought, I notice how she would sit really close to me and nuzzle me gently, as if she knows I need to be consoled.
- Dogs don’t hold a grudge, they forgive us quickly. There are times when I scold Booboo because she’s done something wrong, like chew on my mom’s shoes, she doesn’t hold it against me. After a few minutes in her corner, she would run back to me, as if to make peace, like nothing has happened.
- Dogs teach us to learn how to have more fun. Booboo is now an adult, but she still enjoys playing with her toys and playing in general. Most of the time, when we are at a certain age, we stop doing fun things. Booboo reminds me that I am never too old to have fun and be child-like. Doesn’t it feel good when you bond with your family and friends by doing fun things? So we should play every chance we get. It makes us feel younger.
There are so many things that Booboo does that make me happy. As a dog owner, I have learned many things from her, and I am still learning new things often, if not everyday. Honestly, she’s the one thing that I really miss a lot when I am away.
