Christmas: 87 Days Until
Sep 30, 2008 Daily Blurbs
Who says it is too early to put up decorations? Our neighbor lit up their Christmas lights on the eve of Septmber 1. I was actually surprised when I looked outside and saw twinkling lights. It was like little tea light candles in the trees. We don’t normally put up Christmas lights on our trees, but we have a few years ago. It is quite hard to take down, without me, fearing that I might fall down.
My most favorite part is putting up the Christmas tree. Ours is just 5 feet tall, but its branches are huge. I do it with my mom and sisters. Sometimes my father and brother helps. We usually recycle our Christmas decorations, but when my mom finds something at the malls, we simply add more.
I actually have a mental list already, on who’s going to get what for Christmas. All I have to do is stash money for them, and that means no expensive restos for me. This year, I want to give something special for everyone, not just something you pick out just because you want to give something. Yes, there’s a saying, “It’s the thought that counts.” But when you put a special thought when you pick out gifts, for me, that matters more. It means, the person is more special.
My target shopping month is October. I don’t want to be sandwiched by hardcore Christmas shoppers come end of November and the whole month of December! I may even do online shopping for convenience.
Are you excited for the Holidays? Have you made a list?

I’m not even thinking about Christmas until Halloween is out the way. Halloween is my favourite holiday so I like to splurge money out on that before I start buying people gifts for Christmas.
It’s cool that you recycle your Christmas decorations. We’ve had our decorations for years now. We use the same ones (tradition) and we usually buy one or two new ones each year. Just something my mum likes to do. She takes care of all the Christmasy things, haha!
Good luck with your shopping. I have no idea what I’m gonna get anybody this year.

I haven’t been thinking about Christmas til I read this post lol. Putting up the tree is certainly an exciting part of Christmas. I always thought decorating the home is more fun than opening presents, haha.

I normally don’t think about Christmas until Halloween is over. I may put up my outdoor lights when I take down my halloween haunt house props.
I can understand putting white lights up in the trees and what not for a sweet effect if your having a dinner party and or one of the east indian holidays has a night of lights in the fall.. Then again they could just want to do it now so they don’t have to it in the crappier weather.
