After The Fire

I did not have any plans for my birthday. What I did is go to my relatives and bought ice cream for everyone, just to celebrate the day. I was able to take new photos of the place. You can view it on my Flickr account for more fire. My cousin, Roan, who suffered from burns, seems to be feeling better, or at least her spirits are up. A lot of people lend their hand to give us their utmost support and help.
I am deeply in awe how the people that I seldom interact with in real life went out of their way to help us. Pao and Michael were so generous to give us some financial help. Michael is just an online contact in my Multiply account. Pao also offered to give the little kids something after the Holidays. My heart cannot contain the joy of having these people give what they can and more, just to help other people.
A lot of my mother’s friends sent donations of food, clothes, shoes and household items. We were able to give our relatives something to help them start over. As of now, they don’t have a permanent place to stay. My grandmother and my cousin, Raymond, is with my aunt. My other aunt and her kids and families are staying with their relatives on their father side of the family. Of course, it’s just temporary. I believe my dad and his brothers and sisters are working something out. Like, what they would do with the property, if they would sell it or rebuild a new home. I do want them tor rebuild it, because my grandmother loves that place. My grandmother needs a new recliner because hers was lost in the fire. She would usually sit in the veranda during her afternoon naps in her recliner.

Yesterday, when I was at ground zero, Ryan insisted that we still celebrate my birthday. I was hesitant to go, but I still did. He really surprised me because he gave me the shoes that I wanted. He was the one who chose the design. I just wanted this kind of shoes.
We were supposed to watch a movie last night but decided that we should just eat because we’re both hungry. JeAr called me on my cellphone and asked where I was. He works beside the Mall of Asia so he just met us there. My birthday this year is better than the last two because I was able to celebrate it with my family, my special someone, and my friend. Ryan really made it special and he said, “That’s how birthdays are supposed to be, and I’m so glad you loved this day because I love you…”
I’m glad I didn’t plan anything for my birthday. I just let things happen and I loved how it turned out. A lot of my friends remembered my birthday, and I even received a personal email from Shari. I also received a really cute dress from my mom, and a gift check from my dad, which I used to buy for the groceries I gave to my relatives.
Again, my deepest gratitude to everyone who gave us support and prayed for my family and relatives. You all made everything a little better for all of us. THANK YOU!

hAPPY BIRTHDAY DRE.. Im glad everything went well on your special day. I think it is better if you dont plan anything at all so you wont be expecting things to happen as you’ve planned and wont be upset at all.
those are really nice chucks.. im not sure if its safe to wear em during the rainy seasons, i reckon they’ll have mud stains on them designs if you wear em during the wet days.

It’s awful that the place burned and that people was hurt! I am happy that people were helpful and gave you the much needed support and all. I hope things will be back to normal again soon!

mabuti at ok lang ang relatives mo may mga bata pa pala. Mabuti nga pala hindi ka nag-celebrate ang panget kasi pakingan nasabay sa birthday mo yung nangyari sa relatives mo. I’m glad may mga taong nagbigay tulong kahit papano.

It’s terrible what happened to your relatives. I do hope that everything works out. I’m glad that their spirit has not been broken. Also, I do hope that your grandmother gets a new recliner.
Even though you didn’t do a whole lot on your birthday it still seems like you had a good day spending your time with loved ones. That’s the important thing. Happy Belated Birthday!

Wow, I am really sorry to hear about the fire! It is good to know how giving people can be in other’s time of need. I am glad your cousin that got burned is feeling better.
Kids are resilient thankfully. I hope your family bounces back from this tragedy stronger than ever!!
I can understand you being hesitant about celebrating your birthday but I’m glad you had a good one! I love those shoes and Ryan sounds so sweet!

It always surprises me how people, especially the ones you least expect, can come together. It’s utterly heartwarming. I’m glad to hear that so many people were kind and generous enough to help out your family.
I love the colors on the shoes, although I always feel like I could never pull off that particular style of sneakers.
