2008, Not Just Another Year

Year 2007 went by so fast, but it wasn’t fast enough that nothing really happened. Here’s a list of things that happened to me in the year 2007.

January

February

March

April

May

June

July

August

September

  • Well, I don’t remember anything big that happened to me in September…

October

November

December

  • Kept up with our yearly tradition of secret santa within my family.
  • We experienced a family tragedy. Our property were engulfed by fire, and my cousin suffered from second degree burns.
  • God reminded me that there are more people with really big hearts our there to help anyone in need.

2007 was spent with a mixture of happiness, excitement and tragedy. But through it all, I managed to survive it. I am looking forward to another year, but, I am not making any New Year’s resolution, I have never really kept up with it. What I can do is to continue to make efforts to make myself a better person.

Now, here’s 2008. Another year to face and conquer more battles for self-improvement; another year to experience things that I’ve never tried or haven’t done in a long time; another year to love and be loved by the persons close to my heart; and to be remembered for the good things that I can share with everyone.

How I Spent New Year’s Eve

I spent New Year’s eve with my whole family and Ryan joined us, too. I was actually afraid for Booboo because during the morning, when she heard firecrackers, her hears shot up and quickly ran to me, shaking and frightened. I had to hold her really tight to stop her from shaking. But she survived the night.

We had our New Year’s eve dinner at home, we shared the feast that my whole family prepared and worked hard for all day. I was tasked to prepare 3 desserts, Mocha Fridge Cake, Buko (Coconut) Salad, and Leche Flan. I also helped clean the seafoods; shrimps and fish. I had to wake up really early to clean the house, too.

The rest of the evening was spent at my aunt’s house down the street, where we shared chocolates and wine, played lots of games, and watched the fireworks display. I think that this year’s celebration is better than the last.

I wish we celebrate New Year’s here in the states like we used to there in the Philippines. I terribly miss it. =(

2007 went by fast. And like yours, mine was mixed of joy, excitement, failures and everything in between those.

About booboo and the fireworks, tell me about it! I love doing fireworks on New Year’s (when i was still there) but then my dog (then) was always terrified. I felt so bad for her but I still did fireworks. LOL.

Have a great one, dre! =]

Wow, you’ve done so much in the past year! It’s amazing. Compared to your list…well, I couldn’t even make a list.

Aww, your dog is scared of firecrackers too? Mine’s 13 years old and he still goes flying every time he hears the kids next door setting off fireworks.

    Happy 2008!
