Fantastic Five Four

No Spoilers

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer Ryan and I watched Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Honestly, it was too short for me, at 1 hour and 32 minutes, to be exact. The CGI effects were good, the acting wasn’t bad either. A movie that is made to pass time. I wasn’t wowed, but it was enjoyable and is not a waste of money. Although, I’d be satisfied to see it on DVD.

Comparing the film to the first, this is better. There is more action, but like I said, it was short, so it seems a bit rushed. I have not read the comics, so I am not sure how accurate this film is compared to the print. Ryan filled me in about the characters, like Gallactus and Silver Surfer, where they came from and what they are. He is a big DC and Marvel fan. Overall, the film was just OK. Come to think of it, I can’t really recall any special scenes from the film. Tsk tsk.

She’s OK

My grandma is feeling better now. She’s at her home, relaxing and doing her best to get her strength back. I wonder what my uncles and aunts would say if I bring up the idea of a personal nurse… Would they flip? I also wonder if my mom would give me the look. Hmm… I do want to just blurt it out! Sigh…

My Grandma

My grandma was rushed to the hospital 2 days ago. She was diagnosed with Broncho Pneumonia1, which really worried me. I have been suggesting for them to hire a personal nurse to monitor her health. She’s turning 92 on August, she’s not getting any younger. She needs someone who would focus on her needs only. I know that my aunt is there, but she’s got other things to do.

I told my dad to just take grandma here, at home. It’s quieter here, plus there is almost no pollution. But my grandma doesn’t really want to leave house. She should be enjoying her life now, without worries. I just hope that the her sons and daughters, except my dad, would see her as their mother, and not their moneymaker. Yes, my grandma receives more than a call center agent’s salary, but they take advantage of her and take her money. I just hate how some of them are lazy bums who are always at the mercy of my grandma’s pensions.

My grandma has always been a strong woman. She can still walk, and a few years ago, she still does her own laundry. She always reminds me to do the right things, be a good daughter and to accomplish what I need to. I admire her so much. I am actually her favorite grandchild. I miss her so much.

She was discharged from the hospital today. Hopefully, she will feel better soon.

It’s “YOUR” Fault

I am supposed to be asleep right now (3:39am), but obviously, I am not. I was bothered by Ryan’s lack of discipline today. Well, technically, it was last night. He knew he had to wake up by 11pm so he could get ready for work, but he slept at 9pm. I understand that there was a party at their house yesterday because of his cousin’s Christening1 but that’s no excuse to drink and be late for work. I had been calling his cellphone for 30 minutes non-stop just to wake him up, but then the battery emptied, so I called their house. His uncle (about 2 years older than us) answered the phone and I asked if Ryan was getting ready for work. He was the one who told me that Ryan drank last night and slept late. I had to explain to him that he has to wake him up or else Ryan’s boss would be breathing on his neck. After 15 minutes, he sent me a text message and blamed his uncle for sleeping late. Duh. He knows his responsibility.

I dislike hearing excuses by blaming things on someone else when it is very obvious that it is your fault. It makes me feel stupid and I don’t like being patronized. I’ve told him more than 5 times to answer my questions straight up because I am mature enough to handle things, and I know when I am given a stupid alibi. I may sometimes keep mum on these sort of things, but it doesn’t mean he should take advantage of it.

Argh!
