Bad Dream
Dec 29, 2005 Daily Blurbs
I dreamed of people who were dead, are dead and will be dead. It wasn’t a pretty sight. I wanted to wake up, but I couldn’t. I tried to scream and make sense of it all, but I couldn’t hear myself. I saw a friend of mine fall of a cliff and another one crying because of his own loss. A friend, who held my hand so tight, just looked at me, pleading for an answer. I couldn’t even tell him that he’s dead! I tried to wriggle his hand from mine because it felt the coldest of the cold, but he would just hold on tighter, and I just stopped struggling. He took me to a place that I haven’t gone to for a long time, the Church. A celebration was going on and he showed me that the people singing in the choir were my family and relatives. I couldn’t make out the songs that they were singing, but they seemed not to see me at all. I looked at my friend to search for a clue, but he just stared back, blankly. His eyes were like a bottomless pit of nothingness. I tried to ask a question, but I couldn’t speak. He let go of my hand and left. I found myself on top of a boulder, on the edge of a cliff. I felt the ground moving below me. I felt like floating, but then I realized that I was falling so fast. I wanted to feel the concrete hit me because I know that I would wake up by then, but that didn’t happen. Water. I was surrounded by violent waves of water. I couldn’t see anything else, but. I would sometimes go under and gasp for air when I get a chance to go up. Suddenly, I felt a tugging motion from my leg. I tried to touch what it was, it was a rope tied on my right leg. I tugged back. Then I felt myself moving towards the force of the tugging. It was so fast that I felt like flying. I closed my eyes, and suddenly, I stopped moving. I opened my eyes and I was greeted by a familiar face, my friend. I smiled at him, he just saved my life, I tried to say. Then he started to cry. I didn’t understand why. He showed me a path leading somewhere. He held my hand tightly, just like before, and he led the way. When we got there, a small hut was built neatly in the middle of the grass field. He looked at me with poignant eyes and I looked back in confusion. He let go of my hand and pointed to the little hut. I went on without him. I couldn’t take the suspense anymore, so I ran as fast as I could towards the hut. When I got there, I slowly opened the door and peaked in. Blood rushed to my head in full blast and screamed on top my lungs when I saw myself hanging from the ceiling, DEAD! …And yes, I woke up to my cell phone ringing. Thank heavens!

Happy Holidays!
Dec 25, 2005 Daily Blurbs
My family has this tradition of doing secret santa. Every year, each of us would buy a special gift for the one we’ve picked. This year, I picked my Dad. I gave him this wood-carved ashtray from Baguio. He said he really liked it. Not that I encourage him to smoke, but I knew he’d use it. My mom was the one who picked me, and she gave me a shirt with a pair of shoes on the front as the design. She knew I love shoes a lot. My sister gave me a pillow with my name on it, and the other one gave me a facial mask from St. Ives. I gave my dad a leather belt as well. I gave my sisters a bag and a pair of sunglasses, and my brother a water bottle from Spongebob Squarepants.
Here’s a little token from me to you

This is a picture taken today with my siblings by the Christmas tree.

Thanks for everyone who sent in their greetings.
Merry Christmas everyone! I hope each one of you have a blessed day.

What Happened?
Dec 23, 2005 Daily Blurbs

Even if I was a few people short, I’d say that I had a great birthday. I was counting on all my old friends to come, and they bailed on me at the last minute. Of course, I was disappointed, but what else can you do if the excuses they make just don’t add up? Anyway, the day started with a text message from Mark, an old friend, saying that he’s wishing me a happy birthday and that he’d try to make it that night (he didn’t show up). So I just watched TV until 2am. By 6:24am, I received a phone call from Ian, asking if I will go to the office. I showed up by 8:30am with a cake for my team mates to munch on. I stayed in the office for about 2 hours, and left Christmas gifts for my buddies there. I got home by 12nn, prepared for the party that night. My cousin’s husband was the one who cooked all the food. He prepared pansit, fried chicken, mechado, imbutido and pork barbeque. My cousin, JC, and her family arrived at 8pm. They gave a watch from Bayo. I also received a watch from my mom and dad with different colored staps to match the clothes I wear, and a pair of socks from my sister. We were already singing using our videoke collection. My dad kept on asking when my friends would be arriving, since he did a lot of preparations as well. He cleaned the tables and chairs that we used. He was also the one who paid for everything.

As disappointed as I was, I just had to keep my hopes up, because I don’t really want my dad to see me sad. By 10:30pm, my guests arrived; Je’Ar, Ringo, Will and Alex. I ate with them, and my parents joined in, in the conversations. Of course, we had those “parent-to-child” talks, which was also good, ‘coz that gave my parents a chance to get to know my friends. After swapping stories, we headed to the living room. Ringo wanted to watch “Chicken Little”, so I readied the DVD. Je’Ar wanted to connect to the internet, so I had him use the computer. Everyone was still watching the movie, when I noticed that everyone had fallen asleep. I thought to myself, 2 years ago, the friends that I expected to come didn’t, and I thanked those who did; and now, it is the same thing. I guess those who came, are those who really mattered.
