Red Day

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!
Well, happy to some, I suppose… This is the third year that I have been treating this day, just like any other day of the year. Except for my birthday though. Yes, I still notice the reds all around and the occasional V-day greetings from friends, who know very much that no one else, will greet me. Boo-hoo! Bitter, to some, I may sound, but Valentine’s Day for me now is overrated!
What am I going to do today?
Well, as planned, I am cooking food for my family. I’ve done my groceries for dessert. Last year was pretty much the same, but I’d rather spend it with the people closest to my heart, and they are my family. A cliché. True. But it’s honest.
To everyone who’s with the one they love, or the one who loves them, I hope that you’ll get the best of this day.

In My Heart
Feb 7, 2005 Uncategorized
Last night, I had a movie marathon. The first one that I watched is The Classic. It is an independent Korean film that depicts the love between two young individuals that lasted until the end.
A girl named, Ji-hae, narrated the story in the present setting. She and her friend, Soo-kyoung, are in love with the same boy, Sang-Min. Ji-hae would write emails to Sang-Min in behalf of Soo-kyoung. Secretly, Ji-hae, loves Sang-Min. Soo-kyoung is oblivious. She would ask Ji-hae favors so that Sang-Min would fall for her. Ji-hae kept a box of letters and a diary that her parents exchanged when they were young.

One afternoon she started reading one of the letters. She found out that her mom loved another man named, Joon-Ha. Her father, Tae-Soo, is Joon-Ha’s bestfriend, and he would ask Joon-Ha to write letters to Ji-Hae’s mom, Joo-Hee, for him. Joo-Hee’s parents fixed her to marry Tae-Soo. So basically, the story revolved around, Joon-Ha and Joo-Hee, sneaking out to meet and express their love. One day, Tae-Soo tried to commit suicide. With that, Joon-Ha, decided to enlist himself to go to war. Joo-Hee learned about it and went to the train station to see Joon-Ha before he left. Joo-Hee told Joon-Ha to come back alive. Yes, Joon-Ha came back alive…but he told Joo-Hee that he married someone else. After that, Joo-Hee, married Tae-Soo and had Ji-Hae. Three years had passed and Joon-Ha died. Joo-Hee learned that Joon-Ha married after she married Tae-Soo. Joon-Ha did that so she wouldn’t marry him because he became blind after the war.

Although it should make you feel good, it made me feel very sad. It left a heavy feeling in my heart. It made me wonder if there will ever be someone who could love me as much as Joon-Ha loved Joo-Hee. Unconditional. True. Endless.
The second movie that I watched is The Notebook. Same theme. Noah loved Allie, and Allie loved Noah. Allie, when she became old, became sick. She doesn’t remember anything from her past. So, Noah would read to her a notebook about their love. Written on that is a note saying, Read this to me and I will come back to you…. They died together in their sleep.
I think that being alone for a very long time makes you feel so many things…different things. A lot of times it feels so empty. I cry myself to sleep, believing that in my dreams it would be different. I have allowed myself to love and take a risk, but it just hurt me. When will I ever take another step?

Friendster Alert!
Feb 6, 2005 Daily Blurbs
Guys, please be advised that the only active Friendster account I have right now is Andreana Tres, dre@onewickedsoul.com. The other two, Andreana and Andreana Dos has been suspended. Someone from Friendster has been using my pictures pretending to be me. Please DO NOT add those impersonators. My account is DRE@ONEWICKEDSOUL.COM, nothing else.
Anyway, yesterday was the Bon Vogage party of my cousin and we went to their condo in Manila. Here’s the view from Torre Lorenzo’s pool, overlooking Manila Bay.
